The Ministry Mavens Behind Destiny International

Ever wondered who stays up until 3 AM debating the finer points of youth ministry engagement strategies or gets genuinely excited about innovative prison outreach programs? Well, you’ve found us—the slightly caffeinated, Bible-highlighting, whiteboard-loving team behind Destiny International.

Our Story

We didn’t set out to create just another Christian website. Truth be told, we were all serving in various ministry capacities when we collectively experienced what we now jokingly call our “burning bush moment”—minus the actual fire, though there was that one prayer retreat campfire incident we’re still not allowed to talk about.

What started as casual conversations about ministry challenges quickly revealed a glaring gap in the spiritual leadership landscape. While there were plenty of resources telling people WHAT to do in ministry, very few addressed HOW to do it effectively while staying spiritually grounded and, you know, maintaining some semblance of sanity.

In 2018, armed with more passion than technical know-how (our first website attempt might have temporarily crashed during what was supposed to be our grand launch—we choose to call that our “parting the Red Sea” moment), Destiny International was born.

What Makes Us Different

We’re the kind of people who get genuinely excited about effective volunteer management systems. Yes, we know that’s not normal. We’ve come to terms with it.

Unlike many ministry resources that either float somewhere in the spiritual stratosphere or get bogged down in corporate-speak, we pride ourselves on delivering content that is:

  • Biblically sound (we’ll cite chapter and verse, but won’t hit you over the head with a concordance)
  • Practically applicable (because theory is great, but try using it when you’re managing a room full of sugar-loaded five-year-olds in Sunday School)
  • Refreshingly authentic (ministry is messy—we don’t pretend otherwise)
  • Occasionally irreverent (because sometimes you need to laugh to keep from crying when the church printer jams ten minutes before service)

Our Team

We’re a diverse bunch of ministry practitioners, theological thinkers, and creative communicators who collectively have experienced just about every ministry triumph and train wreck imaginable.

Our team includes former youth pastors who still occasionally use slang from 2005 (unironically), children’s ministry directors with impressive collections of puppet ministry war stories, outreach coordinators who can pack a mission trip suitcase in under five minutes, and prayer warriors who faithfully intercede for the global church (and for our website not to crash again).

While we come from different denominational backgrounds, geographical locations, and ministry specializations, we share an unwavering commitment to equipping believers to discover and develop their unique callings.

Our Mission

We exist to demystify ministry, equip spiritual leaders, and encourage practitioners at every stage of their journey.

Whether you’re discerning your first steps into ministry, looking to grow an established organization, or seeking fresh inspiration after decades of service, our mission is to provide you with thoroughly researched, biblically grounded, and genuinely helpful resources that address the full spectrum of ministry realities—from the deeply spiritual to the hilariously practical.

What We Believe

While we appreciate a good theological debate (preferably over coffee or something stronger, depending on your denomination), we’re centered on core biblical principles that transcend denominational boundaries:

  • Everyone has a ministry calling that deserves to be developed
  • Effective ministry requires both spiritual depth and practical skills
  • The best ministry happens in community, not isolation
  • Burnout is not a badge of honor, and self-care is not selfish
  • The five-fold ministry gifts (Ephesians 4:11-12) are still essential for today’s church
  • Humor is a spiritual gift (okay, that one’s not explicitly biblical, but we’re making a strong case for it)

How We Work

Picture this: Zoom calls where someone inevitably forgets they’re on mute, shared documents with way too many comments, and the occasional passionate debate about whether “fellowship” should be used as a verb.

Behind the polished articles and resources you see on our site is a team that works surprisingly well together despite our different time zones, communication styles, and strong opinions about worship music. Each piece of content gets researched, written, theologically reviewed, practically vetted, and only then published—usually after someone asks, “But how would this actually work in a real church on a Tuesday night?”

Join Our Journey

Whether you’re a seasoned ministry veteran or someone just beginning to explore your calling, consider Destiny International your virtual ministry mentor, cheerleader, and occasionally, that friend who tells you what you need to hear rather than what you want to hear.

We invite you to explore our resources, join our community, and partner with us in developing impactful ministries that transform lives. And yes, we genuinely want to hear from you—even if it’s to tell us that our worship music opinions are questionable.

Welcome to the Destiny International family. We’re glad you found us, and we solemnly promise never to use the phrase “now turn to your neighbor and say…” on our website. Some church traditions are best left in the sanctuary.

Why “Destiny International”?

You might be wondering about our name. It emerged from our core belief that every person has a God-given destiny in ministry—a unique contribution that only they can make to the Kingdom. The “International” part reflects both our global perspective and our slightly ambitious vision (and perhaps our collective tendency toward grandiose thinking after those late-night planning sessions).

One team member suggested “Ministry Madness” instead, but cooler heads prevailed. Though we did keep that phrase for our internal email thread where we share the ministry moments that you simply couldn’t make up if you tried.

Ready to discover, develop, and deploy your ministry calling? You’re in the right place. Let’s journey together.
